Which one is the better laptop?
I am looking to buy a laptop soon and want to make sure I buy the best own in this price range, so the following models are all the same price:
Compaq Presario C571NR 15.4" with Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor T2080 1.73GHz, 80 GB Hard Drive, 1GB RAM, DVDRW, Vista Premium)
Acer Aspire 5101AWLMi Notebook
AMD Turion processor, 2GB RAM, 80GB hard drive, DVD writer, 15.4" widescreen display, WiFi, networking, Windows Vista Home Premium, and more
I'm an amd man, and would automatically tend towards the one with the amd processor (they have a history of higher benchmarks with the same clock, and similar setups while being cheaper at the same time)
you don't mention the clock for the Acer, so i can't compair that..
you don't mention network capabilities for the compaq(I'm sure it has the minimum for highspeed internet) so i can't compair that...
the acer has one more gig of ram than the compaq
they both have the same size display...
same harddrive...
similar dvd capabilities
same OS
with this info, I would go with the acer. More ram is always a good thing, amd processors have a history of out performing there intel counterparts for a better price and from the descriptions, i know more about the conectivity of the acer than the compaq.
some more info might change this though... if you are a tech support junky, look for who has the better tech support. compaq may be better for that(they probably are...) or if the clock on the amd is half the clock of the intel, Amd doen't do THAT much better! go with the intel in this case.
The best i can say is Good luck! and don't be obsessed with buying the ABSOLUTE BEST! it will look like a snale in 6 months!
