Asus Eee Pad Transformer Review - Read This Before You Purchase This Tablet!
First at all, Eee Pad Transformer is built very well. It has top notch components. The microsd slot actually works. The screen is good, great viewing angles accurate colors, it’s the same display used on iPad 2. The cameras is good. Front and rear cameras make for easy video chat and digital photography, which can be played back in video on HDTVs with a mini HDMI output port, making it a true mobile entertainment device.
One of amazing feature is remote desktop: you can control your computer, whether it’s a Mac or a PC, if they’re both connected to your home wireless connection. You can access your PC from anywhere and use all of its features. You can watch a HD movie and work on Microsoft Word, everything go smoothly.
You can edit Microsoft Office docs on this tablet using Polaris Office, it is great and this app comes pre-installed on it. Playing mp3s or acc files on this android tablet, it is amazing too. You can use the application MyNet to play a song from your own PC or Mac, via bluetooth. Asus has make its own on screen keyboard and surprisingly it is better than the Honeycomb's default keyboard.
It has native email (which BB Playbook doesn’t) and you can sync your calendar and contacts easily. Eeepad Transformer has full flash compatibility. For just $399, there is nothing on the market with these specs. Xoom has similar specs and it costs $200 more. Xoom doesn’t give you the option to attach an optional dock with all those slots.
There is Android Market: You can download any apps you want, any developer can create application for it, it’s a “free” system. It’s not as wide as the App Store, but I am sure it will be big.
This is my first ownership experience of an Android Honeycomb tablet. Honeycomb OS is very fun and user friendly. There are tons of apps, widgets, customizations, etc. that make using this Android Honeycomb tablet enjoyable.
Multitasking is really easy on the Eeepad Transformer. You can quickly change from one application to the other, check e-mails, browse something on Google, play a song and even have your Skype session open at the same time. The Skype applications needs updates, but that’s nothing to do with Asus.
File Manager: this feature is good! You don’t have to stick your Eeepad Transformer to your PC all the time to move, copy or paste files. You can make new folders and even transfer files from your microSD card straight to it. You don’t need to plug it in in order to access or move the files.
Widgets: Your Desktop Area (Or Asus Launcher) is very wide so you can add many widgets to it, and they’re very handy.
Like its name, transformer, Eeepad Transformer can change into notebook, with the help of optional keyboard dock that has its own battery. Optional keyboard dock not only help us to writing faster, but also extending battery life up to 16 hours.
