The Popular Plasma Tv Wall Mount
One of the attractions of owning a plasma television set is the ability to hang it on a wall. Due to its slim, shallow design it can also be built into a wall with a plasma TV wall mount to help free floor space and to inhibit blocked viewing of the programs. Most manufacturers include stands to hold the televisions upright on a flat surface and sell a plasma TV wall mount separately as an option. Mounting the plasma tv to the wall can be cumbersome, and many consumers will not bother with it and choose just to use the standard mounting.
Additional cables will be required with most plasma and lcd televisions. All the digital and video devices will need to be connected to the plasma tv and you will have a power cord that will need to be plugged in. A lot of the cables may be fished into the wall hidden behind the plasma tv, however they will still be seen underneath the tv unless covered by a foilege or some other object.
Many of these devices are obtainable with wirless conn's , nevertheless if you want to replace them all then it could be a little tricky and expensive. Your plasma tv wall mount can be a neat and clean installation if it is recessed allowing you to hide all of the cables and wiring.
Mounting Support
It's always better to purchase the wall mount accessory from the manufacturer to insure compatablilty. There are many adjustable mounts supplied by third party vendors that will perform well, but for peace of mind with an expensive piece of electronic equipment, it pays to have the one designed for that particular set.
Regardless of where on the way the television will be mounted, the mounting brackets for the plasma TV wall mount must be fastened to wall studs to eliminate the chance of them being ripped out of the wall. While most of the televisions are light weight, they still weight more than most pictures and if the screws or bolts holding the plasma TV wall mount to the wall do not have a firm grip on the wall studs, there is a good chance of them ripping loose and dropping the television on the floor.
The viewing angle on plasma tvs can be adjusted for depth allowing the tv to be slightly away from the wall making the viewing angle more suitable.
Secure Monitor to Loft Desk?
I recently bought a loft for my dorm room. The loft has a desk built in. This desk stretches from one end to the other (long wise) and does not have a backboard to prevent items from falling off. However, it is a very sturdy desk other wise.
I have a 19 in LCD monitor that I would like to put on this desk. As I will be moving in and out of the bed, I am afraid that it may shake, or somehow fall off.
Can anyone suggest a way/product to secure it. I do not one of those LCD mounts that makes the monitor move around all crazy.
I need it to be sturdy.
