Xbox 360 Repair Manual - The Permanent Way to Fix Red Light Errors
There are many gaming consoles available but one of the most popular is the Xbox 360 by Microsoft. The Xbox was the first videogame console to be introduced by Microsoft but since its launch it has experienced several technological developments. The second Xbox model is the Xbox 360, which was introduced in 2005 and has loads more features than the original model. Unfortunately since its introduction lots of users have experienced problems with the console's hardware. Some of the most common problems include the 3-red light error and overheating.
The 3-red light error refers to three flashing red lights in the power ring when an error occurs. They are basically the signal of a problem with the console. When an error is occurring three of the lights around the power button turn from green to red, which is a warning signal. They are now famously known as the “Red Rings of Death”!
There are several reasons for getting the 3-red light error but the most common is probably overheating. This can occur when the heat sinks do not properly cool the hot air near the procesor, so the processor then fails. A number of factors can cause overheating. It can be caused by a surge in power consumption by the intercooler, which forces the motherboard to conduct larger current through its circuit, or alternatively it can be caused by bad chip components attached to the motherboard.
Overheating to can lead to failure of the GUI and result in the 3-red light error. As well as three flashing red lights in the power ring an error message might also appear on your screen. The error message will probably be E74 but a different error message might also show up.
There are a few measures that you can take to stop the red light from happening to start with. One of them is to make sure there is enough air circulating around the motherboard to keep it cool, so that it doesn’t overheat. If you can maintain a constant temperature for a long period you shouldn’t experience the error.
If you are unlucky enough to experience the 3-red light error there are a number of ways you can fix it. You can send your console off to Microsoft if you want to wait weeks for it to be returned to you. On the other hand you could repair it yourself and save lots of time and cash.
There are lots of Xbox 360 repair manuals available online to guide you through each step of the repair process but it is fairly simple and very quick to do. You can be back playing on your console in no time without experiencing the frustrating 3-red light error, and even better you won't have forked out loads of cash.
You don't even require any special tools to fix your Xbox 360, just a set of screwdrivers, and a repair manual that you can download. Most red light errors are only caused by small problems that don’t require much technical expertise or time to fix, but all the possible causes and simple repair techniques will be explained fully in an Xbox 360 3-red light repair manual and video tutorial.
