Why does my ipod touch wifi wont go through?
well ive been using wifi on my itouch and just now when i want to use safari my connection is high but will not load up at all if you know what it is let me know
It just depends on your location and when you ask Apple they give you all kinds of reasons but no solutions. It used to go in and out for me - it would work and then sometimes it would say "You are no connected to the internet" when I would open Safari, even though I thought I was.
I've found that two things help:
1. If you're using your home wifi, try unlocking it (or taking off the password) and just making it public. It sometimes helps the ipod touch connect faster. But then again, if it's public, anyone can access your wifi if they're close enough (neighbors, especially in an apartment building).
2. If you're using your home wifi, same, and you don't want to make it public, turn off all the airports to the other computers in your home. Either turn off all computers and laptops or turn off the airports so that they are not connected to the internet. It seems like a hassle, but it's worked for me when the ipod touch won't connect. I assume it has to do with too many things trying to share one IP address, but I don't know exactly how it works.
3. Wait it out. especially if it's not your home wifi. You'll never know for sure just why the wifi at some public place works when it wants to and doesn't work other times, because you can't control the settings. So just go somewhere else or just wait it out (sometimes it says it doesn't work but then maybe 20 minutes later it'll be working).
Also, sometimes you might think you're connected to the internet because you turned the Wifi on and checked the one you want to connect to, but on the top bar of the ipod touch if the signal bars are not there, you're not connected. It's just a fault of the ipod touch, which is why the iPhone is superior due to 3G access. Sometimes it can be helped but sometimes you just have to live with it and play some games or something instead of surfing the internet.
